PHILLY 3 FOR ALL: A variety show, girl power and tuneful ice cream






The 11th Annual Northern Liberties Variety Show

Friday night, Fishtown favorite Johnny Brenda's presents its yearly variety show. The night will feature three-minute acts prepared by local amateurs and extrovert entertainers. Sip on local brews from their extensive all-draft beer list and make a night of it by sticking around for the lively after-party with music provided by Adam P. 

Special guest star MC Larry Freeman hosts. If you're feeling brave and think you have what it takes to take the stage, start preparing your bit now and shoot an email to [email protected].

International Women's Day: Celebrating Women and the Arts

Outloud! A Celebration of Female Artists
7 - 10 p.m. Friday, March 8
The weekend kicks off with a night of performances by talented women. Taking the stage will be choirs, poets, spoken word artists, musicians, filmmakers, dancers, actors, painters and more!

Featured performers include the Anna Crusis Women's Choir, Sister Cities Girlchoir, Tamara Oakman and Apiary. Check out the full list and artist biographies here.

Cocktail Reception
7 - 9 p.m. Saturday, March 9
This cocktail party is the perfect opportunity to check out what the Mt. Airy Art Garage is all about. Spend your night visiting the beautiful renovated warehouse space. Meet and chat with new friends, sip on libations and celebrate artistic collaboration. 

Women in the Media and the Arts: A Conversation
1 - 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10
Flying Kite Publisher Michelle Freeman is one of the featured speakers at this interactive roundtable. All are encouraged to share stories and ideas revolving around the past, present and future of women in the arts.

Little Baby's Ice Cream presents a night of great music and fun. 

Taking the stage first is Debbie Kerri & The Kung Fu Girls -- Philadelphia's newest tribute band to Blondie. Next up is the main event: Bruce Ice Cream and the Freeze Street Band, a paean to the legendary Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. 

Get there early to catch a special stage magic performance. Magic, ice cream, Blondie and an imminent cover of "Hungry Heart"? Sounds like a good Sunday to us.
