Meghan's Foundation Rockin' Fundraiser?

Barcamp Philly
Saturday, November 9
Huntsman Hall, University of Pennsylvania
8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
$15

It's the "unconference" that covers everything and anything all at the same time. Hosted in Huntsman Hall at Wharton, this conference is by the people and for the people.

Attendees fill up the boards and times slots with topics that are important to them. In the past, they have ranged from "Three Sheets to the Wind" to "Level Up Your Sass with Comp and Lint" to "Hear My Start Up Story and Help Me Not to Suck."

Start off the event on Friday night with the pre-party at Zivtech (6 - 9 p.m.; click here to register).

It's an opportunity to learn about something new or teach something that you are passionate about while adding to the Barcamp history of "300 talks, 1,650 attendees, 3,125 beers drank, and never enough cups of coffee drank."

For those who can't wait for the holiday season, get a jump start that is sugary sweet! Check out these locally-inspired gingerbread masterpieces by the likes of Chef Gerald Drummond of Starr Restaurants, Chef Andrea Histand of Town Crier Bakery, Chef Diana Anello of Bredenbeck's Bakery, Davina Soondrum of Fitler Dining Room and other pastry professionals.

Each of the 13 houses displayed at The Shops at Liberty Place are modeled after one of Fairmount Park's historic sites, including Lemon Hill, Laurel Hill, the Please Touch Museum and Smith Memorial Playground. And if a taste of these replicas isn't enough, you can visit the Fairmount Park Historic Holiday House Tours, and see some of the models in person.
