This month, the 
Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission will host a 
Regional Community and Economic Development Forum entitled "Voices of Creative Economy: Why Does Place Matter to Creative Businesses?"
The day begins with a presentation introducing attendees to 
CultureBlocks, a mapping tool that supports people making decisions about place and creativity in Philadelphia. Next on the agenda, Larry Eichel, project director of the 
Philadelphia Research Initiative at 
Pew Charitable Trusts will deliver the featured presentation, "Philadelphia 2013: the State of the City."
Following the presentation, Flying Kite Publisher Michelle Freeman will moderate a panel discussion featuring successful regional businesses whose sense of placemaking has helped defined the creative economy. Panelists include Seun Olubodun of 
Duke & Winston; Bill Covaleski of 
Victory Brewing; Page Neal of 
Bario-Neal; and Robert Cheetham of 
Azavea.
Arrive at 9 a.m. for registration and coffee, and plan to stay for lunch and networking after the meeting. Please RSVP to

30th Street Craft Market at The Porch

On Saturday, 
University City District (UCD) teams up with Baltimore Avenue's 
VIX Emporium to host the 
30th Street Craft Market. Shop unique and locally-made wares -- including jewelry, prints, ceramics, stationery, home goods, children's gifts -- from more than 50 local vendors. Three food trucks will also be on-hand: 
Vernalicious, 
Lil Dan's and mac-and-cheese heaven 
MacMart. Shoppers will also enjoy 
Ben and Jerry's ice cream and live music from the 
West Philly Orchestra.

Opened in 2011, 
the Porch is 30th Street Station's adjacent outdoor space for concerts and special events. Like

Third Thursday Art Crawl. Visit art galleries and studios for tours, and get a first-hand look at the city's growing creative community. 
While you're over there, stop by Flying Kite's 
On the Ground space at 433 Market Street. Join us for the opening of our 
Transformation art show, featuring the work of artists living and working in Camden. We'll have refreshments, libations and music.
The locations for Camden's Third Thursday include: 
Gallery Eleven One, William Butler's studio and gallery space in a fully restored 1906 firehouse; 
Stedman Gallery, Rutgers' art exhibition space celebrating the graduate thesis work of the school's fine arts majors; and
