Northern Liberties Clean and Green is once again sponsoring its annual Tree Cycling event on Saturday, Jan. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Orianna Hill Dog Park, on the 900 block of North Third Street across from Liberty Lands Park. The Northern Liberties Neighborhood Association is keeping Christmas trees out of the landfills, and using resulting wood chips in its dog park.

While the city hasn't done tree pickup for recycling in three years, it still maintains drop-off sites, and several neighborhood groups are assisting as well this weekend (Jan. 8-9). The city's program runs now through Jan. 15.
