The 2014 incarnation will feature performances by the legendary flamenco artist, Israel Galván, and his renowned sister, Pastora Galván. Rosario Toledo, the featured dancer-choreographer of the 2012 Philadelphia Flamenco Festival, will make her triumphant return to Philadelphia to perform her new work and lead a lab series with local contemporary dance artists, Eun Jung Choi, Meg Foley and Germaine Ingram. Indy Hall Art will get hot and heavy when the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym takes over the gallery. Darla Jackson, the Sculpture Gym's metal-working matron, is curating an exhibition of fine physical craftwork with Indy Hall Arts' own Sean Martorana.

The theme is presence: seven artists, three dimensions, two communities. The presence of sweat and effort, metal and hammer, wood and knife, mud and fire. Plus, on March 7, the Indy Hall Arts Spring Festival officially kicks off. For more details and a full list of participating artists, visit the Facebook invite

The Brewer's Plate is the great-grand-pappy of the beer and food pairing movement in Philadelphia -- one of the first to introduce the region's blossoming throngs of foodies and beer geeks to the concept. And, like most things, it continues to get better with age.

This annual event maintains an unwavering commitment to "buy fresh, buy local" while bringing together the region's outstanding chefs, farmers, food artisans, brewers, distillers and winemakers for the benefit of critics, bloggers and guests.
