Philly Stake
Sunday, June 23
5 - 9 p.m.
Bartram's Garden, 54th Street and Lindbergh Boulevard
$15-$25

Get ready for the next Philly Stake by purchasing your tickets online. Last time, this wildly popular event sold out in 10 hours, and Bartram's Garden is the perfect location for the BYO-Blanket picnic-style dinner featuring a sumptuous meal, free beer and music.

Philly Stake is recurring event celebrating locally sourced food and creative community projects. Organized by volunteers, Philly Stake holds events approximately every three-to-four months, and has distributed $13,350 to 18 community projects since September 2010. Stake dinners are seasonal meals sourced from local farms and purveyors. At the dinner, eight Philadelphia-based project proposals are presented to diners (check out the call for proposals here). Attendees vote for the project they deem most worthy. Awardees leave the dinner with the proceeds and present their funded project at the next meal.

The June Stake will feature live music by Heyward Howkins. Visit the Facebook page for all the info. Sign up for their email list to get first dibs on tickets.

Campus Philly Opportunity Fair
Thursday, June 20
University of Pennsylvania, Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce Street
Noon - 3 p.m.
Free

Campus Philly's 5th Annual Opportunity Fair is an in-person event for recent college graduates seeking awesome career opportunities in the Greater Philadelphia region. (Click here for a complete preview of the event.) Employers will be on-site recruiting for entry-level positions and internships in a wide range of industries. Graduate and professional Schools will also be on hand showcasing their programs and assistantships.

Now that you, or your recent grad, will spend less time with the books, there will plenty of time to get involved for local nonprofits and civic organizations. Representatives from local organizations seeking volunteers and new members will also be in attendance.

The fair will also feature fun and informative seminars on topics including networking, graduate school planning and community engagement.

This event is free for any recent graduate looking for regional career opportunities. Click here for a full list of recruiting businesses; register here. Contact David Lanza with any questions or if you are a business interested in recruiting.
