The Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA) is back, celebrating another year of innovation, collaboration and creativity in the city. Every Thursday during the festival (running through April 27), "Philly Night" presents free live performances from local artists underneath the vaulted glass ceiling at the Kimmel Center.

This week, Philadelphia-based artist, producer and songwriter Andrew Lipke takes the stage. Stay late for a second performance by folk and world genre-inspired Travel Songs. Sketch Comedy Open Mic: Sketch Up or Shut Up

Sketch Up or Shut Up is Philadelphia's only sketch comedy open mic. Come out for the night and watch local comedians and comedy troops perform five-minute sketches. Volunteer for writers in need of actors or just relax and enjoy the show. If you have material you'd like to present, head down at 10:30 p.m. to sign-up -- first come, first served. 

The hour-long open mic is a great opportunity to check out the Philadelphia comedy scene and get in your weekend's dose of laughs. The Philly Improv Theater  is a showcase for all the best improve, sketch and stand-up comedy Philadelphia has to offer. Register for the free event on Ticket Leap .

TU Architecture Alumni Lecture: SNOHETTA's Craig Dykers

Temple University Architecture Alumni Group and the Tyler School of Art's Architecture Department are excited to have architecture firm SNOHETTA's Craig Dykers present during the 2013 Temple Architecture Week. 

SNOHETTA designed the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, as well as the new Temple University Library (done in partnership with Stantec). SNOHETTA was named one of the top 50 most innovative companies by Fast Company along with Apple, Twitter, Facebook and Google. SNOHETTA is noted for creating designs that are "both social and beautiful."
