If you've been moved by the recent press for ballerinas like Misty Copeland and Precious Adams, this documentary is for you. Black Ballerina explores the issue of diversity in the discipline, more specifically the overwhelming white world of classical ballet. The documentary seeks to create fresh dialogue about race, privilege and inclusion by telling the stories of black women from multiple generations. Black Ballerina is produced and directed by Frances McElroy and supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
