DJ Jazzy Jeff Heads Philly 360's Latest Class of Creative Ambassadors


The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation's Philly 360 campaign announced its latest round of creative ambassadors--trendsetters who through their work and success help the program focus on attracting younger, tech-savvy African-American travlelers who are iterested in culture and nightlife--on Tuesday night.

DJ Jazzy Jeff leads the dazzling dozen, which was comprised of musicians, dancers, visual artists, entrepreneurs and producers. The list also includes drummer, designer and entrepreneur Spanky McCurdy, who is currently on tour with Lady Gaga. Through a variety of profiles, appearances and partnerships, the ambassadors will lend their considerable talents and influence in helping Greater Philadelphia continue to be a trendsetter in cultural tourism.

Another ambassador, singer/songwriter Carol Riddick, the senior project manager of the Recording Academy, performed for a packed room of the region's most influential African-American creators. On Saturday (Feb. 5), Philly 360 Legacy is hosting an insider's tour of The President's House at 10 a.m.

Carvin & Ivan: Songwriters and producers currently nominated for five Grammys.

James Poyser
: Grammy award-winning songwriter, producer and musician from The Roots

Sulaiman Rahman: Chairman of African-American Chamber of Commerce and President of urbanphilly.com.

DJ AfroDJiak
: Co-founder of It's the Life Creative.

Seun Olubodun: Fashion designer and founder of Duke & Winston.

Florcy Morisset: Owner/curator of Vivant Art Collection.

Rennie Harris: Hip-hop dancer, choreographer and founder of Rennie Harris Puremovent.

Ernel Martinez
: Artist/painter for Mural Arts Program who is restoring the Paul Robeson mural.
