Head down to West Philly's Satellite Café this Friday for the Ladyfest Art Show opening reception. The event is a fundraiser and buzz-building opportunity for LadyFest Philly (June 7-9), a grassroots festival showcasing the artistic, organizational and political work of women, trans, queer and intersex people, and their allies in Philadelphia. On view through June, the show is curated by the Ladyfest Art Committee and features work from artists who identify as women (cis and trans), queer, genderqueer and intersex. All art will be for sale.

ARTISTS Against Hunger

This weekend, the DaVinci Art Alliance in Bella Vista is hosting ARTISTS Against Hunger, a benefit exhibition. The show will feature art from all over the city, selected by Moe Brooker, artist and chairman of the Philadelphia Art Commission. Proceeds benefit The Food Trust and their work to improve access to healthy, affordable food across the region. Please bring checks and cash; no credit cards will be accepted. 

Head down to the DiVinci Art Alliance for May's First Friday (May 2) or for the reception on Thursday (May 1, 6 - 8 p.m.). Additional gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday, 1 - 5 p.m. This exhibit is organized by SmART Business Consulting which offers business solutions for artists trying to reach their goals.

The Gershman Y's inaugural Jewish Music Festival will boast a dazzling lineup of performers. From an evening of Jewish blues, to American cabaret legend Michael Feinstein, to a brand new klezmer score performed by two of the world's most celebrated musicians, this festival has an event for everyone.
