The annual Weavers Way trek covers a large swath of the city -- including Kensington, South Philly, West Philly, Germantown and Roxborough, including Urban Girl Farm, Methodist Home, Marathon, Refugee Community Farm, and Wyck House. Two rides are available -- a long one (a faster 35 miles) and a short one (beginner-friendly 25 miles). Each hit eight farms. A post-ride party promises reward for all the pedal pushing.

Web Start Women July Startluck Picnic
7 p.m., Sunday, July 24
Mario Lanza Park (Queen St., between 2nd and 3rd, Philadelphia)
Free admission
Geeky gals unite: Web Start Women was launched locally in April by Penn web design lecturer Susan Buck and Nicole Noll, a soon-to-be fellow in the Harvard University psychology department, to encourage women to pursue programming, development and tech startups -- still mostly the domain of men. Now 100 members strong, the group routinely holds workshops, like its Photoshop for Web Developers class on July 25.
